A beautiful 50 acre equine facility available for boarding, lessons, horseback riding, horse sales and leasing. Our facility offers three barns, three arenas, three wash racks and thirteen pastures with new three rail wooden fencing. We host several clinics a year and have many riders of all ages actively showing in various disciplines. Full and pasture board are both available. We are a short 15 minute drive from Jekyll Island or St. Simon's Island. Call for a tour of our facility!
Our Philosophy
Horsemanship is a part of every lesson at Three Oaks Farm. Three Oaks Farm believes riders must be truly knowledgeable about their animals in order to become equestrians. Our horses and students are treated as individuals, each with their own personality and needs.

First Friday Overnight Camp
Children come to the barn anytime after school on Friday afternoon and participate in Pony Club activities. The children will have dinner, watch horse movies, and enjoy other barn related activities. They will spend the night in our clubhouse and wake up Saturday morning and take part in our Saturday morning Saddle Club, which includes a horseback riding lesson.
The cost is $65 per child, siblings 1/2 half.
**The first Friday dates for the rest of the year are April 1,
May 6, June 3, July 1 and August 5.
After School Program
An after school program is available for children attending Satilla Marsh, Glynn Middle School and Glynn Academy. Your children will ride the bus to the farm. They will have thirty minutes of homework time, a snack and one horseback riding lesson a week. Pick up time is by 6pm. Cost is $75 for the week; sibling discount available.
Lessons
$40/ 45 minutes if paid per lesson
$35/ 45 minutes if paid monthly
$20/ 45 minutes if riding your own horse
Lessons are a 45 minute time of private instruction with the instuctor. Lessons are recommended for one month prior to pony club membership, and weekly or
bi-weekly for others. Lessons can be with two people if they are riding at approximately the same level. This is done by request only and usually takes 15-20 minutes longer. Please call for time availability.
Pony Paddock
The Pony Paddock is an after school program for boys and girls ages 5 to 15. Children come to the barn immediately after school with some schools providing bus transportation. The clubbers learn to catch, groom, saddle and bridle their own horse, as well as how to untack, cool down, turn out and feed their horse after their one hour riding lesson. The club meets Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Saturday (10 am to 1pm). Depending on your needs and our availability, the clubbers may come more than once a week. Each club session is $45 per session and $40 per session for more than twice a week and $20 for children who have their horse at our barn. Siblings are half price. We recommend a combination of one lesson a week and one club a week for optimal learning for most children.
Saddle Club
Saddle Club is a program developed for middle and high school students able to wlk or trot their horses by themselves. This program meets Wednesdays, Fridays, 3-5:30 pm or Saturdays, 10 am-1pm. The cost is $45 per session and $40 per session for more than twice a week and $20 for children who have their horse at our barn. and includes a horsemanship lesson, basic horse safety and more than an hour of riding time.
Practice Rides
Practice rides are designed for riders able to safely control their horse at a walk, trot and canter. The rides are $25 per session, with a session lasting 45 minutes. The practice rides are designed to help our immediate riders practice on the skills they have been taught for a reduced rate. Please call for scheduling availability.
Beach Rides
Beach rides are offered periodically through the year. These rides offer the fun experience of riding a horse on the beach without the tourist price! Beach rides are $35 per rider and are only available at this price for our regular riders and their families. A schedule will be posted at the barn for sign up a few weeks before the beach ride. Groups of 3-5 will be taken out to the beach with a guide for a 45 minute ride. All riders should meet 15 minutes prior to their scheduled riding time at Clam Creek on Jekyll Island.
Camps
Camps are offered at Christmas break, spring break or summer break. All camps are 9am to 3pm. Camp activities include art, horsemanship lessons, swimming (weather permitting), and, of course, lots of riding! Camps are $55 per day or $250 per week. Summer Care Camp is $150 per week, 7am to 6pm (minimum of 6 weeks attendence). Discounts are offered for attending multiple weeks of summer camp and siblings are always half off. We follow the Glynn County School System calendar.
Shows
Shows are able to be attended by all regular riders. They are in various locations but usually within a 1.5 hour drive. This is a great way to have fun and keep a check on your progress. Show costs range from $65 to $250 per show. We show with Coastal Plains in the Georgia Federation of Saddle Clubs and with First Coast Hunter Jumper Association.
Birthday Parties
$300/ includes three hour party, unlimited guests and one hour of horseback riding. Hot dogs, drinks and cowboy hats are provided by Three Oaks Farm. You may bring a cake, ice cream or any other food that you may want. An assistant will help you when you arrive at the farm.
Consignment
A limited and select number of horses are taken on consignment each month. Consigned horses must be placed on full board for the duration of their stay. Consigned horses are worked both under saddle and on the ground 3-4 times a week. They are clipped as needed, advertised at our cost and presented to potential buyers by appointment. We charge a 10 % commission on consignment horses sold.
Sales/ Leasing
Sale prices vary per horse. Lease prices vary per horse as well as lease circumstances ( if the horse will be boarded here or away and the value of the horse). All leased horses are under contract for one year with the option to purchase, renew or cancel the lease. 50% of the value of the horse for sale is required as a non-refundable deposit to hold horses.

Dressing for your lesson
Two pieces of equipment are required for participation in the lesson program. One is an ASTM/SEI approved riding helmet. A bicycle helmet is designed for bike accidents, not riding accidents. We do have helmets that a rider may borrow until he/she can buy his/her own. The second piece of equipment you will need is a pair of sturdy shoes with a heel. Optimally these are riding boots, but certain other shoes make suitable substitutions. Information will be provided on how and where these items can be purchased. Close fitting, tucked in shirts with riding pants, breeches, jodhpurs or jeans that will not ride up are necessary clothing.
Risks
Riding and handling horses is a rugged recreational sports activity. No horse is a completely safe animal. If a horse is frightened or provoked, it may revert from its training and act according to its natural behavior. Such behavior may include but is not limited to:
*Stopping short
*Bucking
*Changing speed or direction abruptly at will
*Shifting its weight from side to side
*Rearing
*Biting or kicking
Are horseback riding lessons right for me or my child?
* Have you always wanted to ride horse but were unsure of how to begin?
* Does your child want to ride a neighbor or relative's horse, but you are concerned for their safety?
* Are you thinking of purchasing a horse for you or your child? Are you wondering if your child
committed to this?
* Are you wondering what it takes to keep a horse? Are you wondering how much to pay for a horse or if a particular horse is right for you?
* Do you currently have a horse at home with whom you are experiencing difficulty or do you feel you just want to better your communication?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then riding lessons with a professional will help you address your concerns. Give us a call to set up an appontment today!
How can horseback riding enrich my child?
Horseback riding is a sport that teaches patience, respect, empathy and responsibility . This is a physical outdoor activity where any child, from the one participating in track to the one in book club, can enjoy and succeed. Horses are non-judgmental and children feel less pressure to look, speak or act certain ways when they are with them.
* Patience is required to learn how to communicate with an animal who will be your partner for the lesson. This animal doesn't speak our language and prefers to
move at its own pace.
* Respect is learned from the fact that these are large creatures that cannot be forced to comply. It is also enforced at our facility where you must clean up after
yourself during lessons.
* Empathy is learned during every lesson where your actions are judged according to how your horse reacts.
* Resposibility is learned while you are here for your lesson. You are in charge of the care and the comfort of the horse that is assigned to you.
Transportation provided from several schools to Three Oaks Farm and back for Thursday and Friday lessons and for Pony Clubbers
